Local Moves Local moves are any moves that do not cross state lines. Typically local moves are done within the same town or to a neighboring city. In most states, the contract charges are based on an hourly rate and any packing supplies purchased. The pick up and delivery of your possessions occur on the same day with an exclusive US-1 Van Lines truck and crew. Local move procedure: After being introduced to the foreman and crew you will then give the foreman a tour of your home. During the tour you will notify the foreman of which items you would like to have moved or stored. Then the foreman will devise the best strategy to complete the move as safe and smooth as possible. The hourly rate begins when the crew gets to your home and starts to work. The crew will disassemble beds, dresser mirrors, table tops and blanket wrap all furniture to ensure safe transportation and eliminate any chances for damage. Using the best equipment on the market, the US-1 Van Line movers will load the truck and secure the items so they won't shift in transit. Before the crew leaves the pick-up location we strongly recommend a survey of the premises to insure that nothing was unintentionally left behind. (At this point we usually reach lunchtime. When the crew stops for lunch so does our clock, so you are not charged for this time.) Once we arrive at the final destination you will show the foreman where you would like each item to be placed. The crew will start the unloading process and when the items are in their right place and it feels like home again, the job is complete. We always recommend one last survey of the premises to determine if the job is officially complete though. |
